Wind farms of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom (ROSATOM) have generated more than 1.5 billion kWh of electricity since the beginning of 2023

01.10.2023

The yield of JSC NovaWind wind farms (wind power division of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom (ROSATOM)) for the three quarters of 2023 amounted to 1.55 billion kWh, which made it possible to provide electricity to more than 570 000 households during that time.

Over the year, the yield rate increased by 167 million kWh: in 2022, the yield for the same period was more than 1.37 billion kWh. The increase is due to commissioning of 60 MW Berestovskaya and 160 MW Kuzminskaya WPPs in 2023. In addition, due to the launch of new wind farms, the portfolio of completed projects increased by 30 % year-on-year.

Thus, the 2023 yield rate accounts for the operation of eight commissioned WPPs with a total capacity of 940 MW in the Republic of Adygea, Stavropolsky Krai and Rostovskaya Oblast.

Operation of all WPPs for 3 quarters prevented greenhouse gas emissions into the atmospheric air in the amount of more than 541 thousand tons of CO2 equivalent.

Background information:

Today, the energy sector is the basis for the progressive socio-economic development of the country, providing supplies to industry and citizens. Russia continues to upgrade its energy complex, including nuclear facilities. This work is implemented taking into account the current trends of digitalization and substitution of imported equipment. The share of low-carbon power generation in the Russian energy sector is already around 40%. In perspective, given the growing share of wind generation and nuclear capacity, it will only grow.
