Rosatom more than doubled electricity generation from wind farms in Q1 2022

22.04.2022

Wind power plants of NovaWind JSC (Rosatom’s wind power division) increased electricity generation by 125% in three months of 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year.

In Q1 2021, total wind farm generation exceeded 240 thousand MWh from the commissioned Adygea Wind Farm in the Republic of Adygea with a capacity of 150 MW and the largest wind power plant in Russia – the Kochubeevskaya Wind Farm in the Stavropol Krai with a capacity of 210 MW.

In 2021, more than half of the capacity under the first RES CSA program was successfully implemented: four more wind farms were put into operation – the Karmalinovskaya, Bondarevskaya and Medvezhenskaya Wind Farms in the Stavropol Krai and the Marchenkovskaya Wind Farm in the Rostov Region. Thus, the total capacity of all operating wind farms reached 720 MW, and the generation for the three months of 2022 jumped up to 540 thousand MWh, compared to the same period of the previous year.

The total amount of wind-generated electricity supplied to the unified grid of Russia since the commissioning of the first Rosatom’s wind farm has already exceeded 2 million MWh.
