NovaWind summed up the results of electricity generation from wind farms for 2022

01.01.2023

In 2022, Rosatom’s wind power division NovaWind reaffirmed its status as a leader of the national wind power market – its six wind farms operating in the Republic of Adygea, Stavropol Region and Rostov Region with a total capacity of 720 MW generated over 1.94 millions megawatt hours of electricity.

This amount of electricity prevented over 680 thousands tonnes of CO2-equivalent emissions, which would have been produced if that electricity had been obtained from conventional sources of power.

The Kochubeevskaya Wind Farm, one of the largest in Russia, made the most significant contribution to this record-high figure, having generated over half a million MWh.

“The energy sector is a key contributor to the nation’s efficient social and economic development. Russia keeps working to remodel its power industry by adopting new home-grown technology and developing low-carbon generation, including wind power, which already proves to be highly efficient. A comprehensive approach to selecting sites and forecasting power output guarantees safety and reliability of wind farms, their effective performance, and timely supply of electricity to the national power grid,” NovaWind CEO Grigoriy Nazarov pointed out.
