31.03.2023

Rosatom’s wind power division NovaWind and Rosatom Technical Academy held meetings with the students and management of Stavropol Krai universities as part of the memorandum of understanding signed by the two companies.

On Wednesday, their representatives talked to the baccalaureate students majoring in Power and Electrical Engineering who will graduate from the Engineering Institute of the North-Caucasus Federal University (NCFU) in 2023.

On Thursday, another two meetings were held, this time with Nevinnomyssk Energy College students majoring in Power Plants, Grids and Systems and Grid Protection and Automation and with NCFU Technology Institute students majoring in Power and Electrical Engineering and Industrial Process Automation.

The meetings were attended by Leonid Gunin, Head of Project Performance Improvement at Rosatom Technical Academy, Ural Shaidullin, Deputy CEO for Wind Farm Operation and Maintenance, Ksenia Kim, Head of Recruitment and Development Department, and Chief Engineer at NovaWind, and Igor Skirichenko, CTO of Nevinnomyssk Operation and Maintenance Centre at NovaWind. They spoke about Rosatom’s wind power projects and career opportunities in the Russian nuclear corporation.

After the career guidance events were over, meetings were held with the management of universities to discuss a systemic approach to organising hands-on training courses for students at NovaWind facilities and subsequent employment of vocational school and university graduates, guest lectures by NovaWind wind farm operation and maintenance experts, and development of specialised training courses to supplement university curricula.

“NovaWind and Rosatom Technical Academy continue to expand the range of measures that help students and young talents to become part of the professional community. Necessary conditions are laid down to expand the dialogue between industry professionals and ambitious students and to institutionalise the most effective approaches. Acquiring young talents through internships and engaging practical experts in the educational process are examples of the tools proved effective. Career guidance meetings help us to formulate a proactive human resource strategy in wind power engineering as an important component of developing new businesses and entering global markets,” Ural Shaidullin explained.
