During a meeting at the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Communication of the Stavropol region, proposals from several municipalities were considered. They are related to construction of WPS facilities within the respective territories. The mechanism of collaboration for selection of sites for future wind-driven power stations was also determined.

The meeting participants emphasized the need for measures to include the WPS construction investment project into the “Strategy for social and economic development of the Stavropol territory to 2035” and including WPS facilities in the Stavropol territory land-use plan.

“The south of Russia is a priority region for us. The Stavropol region has good wind power potential and we are ready to consider the possibility of building wind power stations in there,” noted Vladislav Beschastny, the Chief of Administration for Deployment of WPP and Site Selection of JSC VetroOGK, a subsidiary of JSC NovaWind.

JSC NovaWind will construct wind power stations with a total power of 970 MW.
