Pursuant to the agreement, the parties established Red Wind B.V., Joint Venture. Emin Askerov, Deputy Director General of JSC NovaWind, will be the CEO of the joint venture. Sjoerd Sieburgh Sjoerdsma, Lagerwey's Licensing and Collaborating Director was appointed Managing Director. The management team will be formed shortly. RedWind is responsible for marketing, sales, turnkey delivery of wind turbines and after-sales support. Red Wind will engage in a production localization program. The joint venture will be responsible for qualifying suppliers and contracting components for subsequent delivery to JSC NovaWind production sites in Volgodonsk. The current production program provides for the supply of 388 wind turbines by the joint venture by 2022. JSC VetroOGK will own the newly contracted wind farms and supply electric power.

“The agreement is the result of consistent work carried out by our joint team since the conclusion of the License Agreement. The document signed today confirms the parties' firm commitments to implement the wind energy program in Russia. Today, I can safely say that we have all the necessary competencies for successful implementation of the project based on the most advanced technologies with the strongest management team,” said Aleksandr Korchagin, Director General of JSC NovaWind.

Lagerwey’s Huib Morelisse said, “The joint venture is a logical extension of our work to build Russia's wind industry based on the most advanced technologies. Together, we are creating the basis for a new market with enormous potential. We are proud of the fact that Dutch technologies will form the foundation of this market.”

Lagerwey will provide a transfer of technologies for the production of 2.5 MW and 4.5 MW wind turbines to the Russian partner, and will share competencies in wind farms. The Dutch partner will assist Red Wind in training personnel required for the production of wind turbines and the operation of wind farms. Lagerwey will also supply components for the first 60 wind turbines.
