Gazprombank and ROSATOM sign an agreement to finance the construction of wind farms

19.06.2017

Gazprombank and JSC VetroSGC (a member of the Rosatom State Corporation) have signed the first agreement on financing Rosatom’s wind farm construction project.
Gazprombank and JSC VetroSGC (a member of the Rosatom State Corporation) have signed the first agreement on financing Rosatom’s wind farm construction project. The total amount of financing under the signed loan agreement will be RUB 63.1 billion over a period of 10 years.

Loan funds will be made available to JSC VetroSGC on a project-funding basis, under which the principal cash flow for servicing the debt will be provided by the revenues of JSC VetroSGC under capacity supply agreements based on renewable energy sources.

“Gazprombank has consolidated its position as Russia’s leading financial institution in the field of renewable energy. We are constantly expanding our competencies by participating in the formation of a new branch in the Russian economy – wind energy, while already having considerable experience in financing solar power plants. Gazprombank has historically been an important and reliable partner of the Rosatom State Corporation in the field of nuclear energy and now in wind energy as well,” said Aleksey Matveyev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprombank Management Board.

“Currently, the project of setting up Rosatom's first wind farms in the Republic of Adygea is transitioning from the organizational-preparatory phase to the investment stage. Here, at the AtomExpo forum, we have entered into firm agreements with both our technological partner and our financial partner, Gazprombank. We can safely say that today, a pool of major participants in Rosatom's large-scale project for establishing a new wind energy industry in Russia has finally been formed. Before the end of 2022, we will be commissioning wind farms with a total capacity of 970 MW and we do not intend to stop there. The documents signed at the forum create a solid foundation for achieving our strategic objectives,” said Kirill Komarov, First Deputy Director General, Director of the Development and International Business Unit of the Rosatom State Corporation.
