ROSATOM and the Republic of Karelia plan to build a 60 MW capacity wind farm by the White Sea

Head of the Republic of Karelia Mr. Artur Parfenchikov and Mr. Aleksandr Korchagin, Director General of JSC "NovaWind", a division of State Corporation Rosatom responsible for new energy industry programs, have discussed the prospects of the project during the Russian Investment Forum held in Sochi.
JSC "NovaWind" plans to implement a project for the construction of a 60 MW capacity wind farm by the White Sea in 2021-2022 by redistributing power selected according to the Capacity Delivery Agreements (CDA RE).

JSC "NovaWind" implements the most ambitious local content program in manufacturing of wind turbines in Russia and we are interested in the geographic growth of our projects. Whereas Karelia has the sufficient potential for the development of programs in the wind energy industry. Currently, we are selecting sites for the project," said Alexandr Korchagin.

Moreover, as a part of its local content program for manufacturing of wind turbine components, JSC "NovaWind" is considering the possibility of investing locally in the manufacture of castings in the Republic of Karelia at the plant of JSC "Petrozavodskmash".
