The Rosatom's Wind Energy Division became a laureate of the Vershina Caucasus Investment Forum award

The award is given to projects and companies for their contribution to the economy and development of the investment potential of Russian regions.

The ROSATOM's Wind Energy Division became a laureate of the Vershina All-Russian Investment award conferred as part of the Caucasus Investment Forum (held July 15–17 in Grozny). ROSATOM's Wind Energy Division became the winner in the category of The Most Sustainable Investment Project.

 

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak and Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov participated in the awards ceremony.

 

Currently, the Division acts as a systemic integrator of Rosatom projects in wind power engineering and effectively addresses the entire range of tasks, including wind power plant design, in-house manufacture of wind turbine components, management of the supplier chain and components logistics to the site, and subsequent service and operation. “We have put into operation 9 wind power plants in the south of Russia. This is more than 1 GW of wind energy capacity. In addition to the construction of power facilities, improving the quality of life of people, developing infrastructure in the regions of presence and creating new jobs are in important priority of any major Rosatom project. I express my gratitude to the jury members for their professionalism and high assessment of our project,” commented Grigory Nazarov, General Director of the ROSATOM's Wind Energy Division.

 

There were 263 applications from 43 regions of Russia submitted for the award. The projects in the field of entrepreneurship, housing and utility infrastructure, power engineering, public-private partnership, industrial agriculture, tourism and logistics were assessed by an independent jury of experts in the field of investment, business and innovation.

The Rosatom State Corporation is a multi-profile holding company that combines assets in power engineering, mechanical engineering, and construction. The ROSATOM's Wind Energy Division was established in September 2017. The Company is focused on the management of key competences in the wind power engineering - from designing and building to power engineering and operation of wind power plants. Currently, over 1 GW of wind power capacity has been commissioned. In total, the Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation will put into operation wind power plants with a total capacity of about 1.7 GW by 2027.

 

The main topic of the Caucasus Investment Forum, which is being held in Grozny for the first time this year, is “The Greater Caucasus - from sea to sea.” The Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. One of the main events of the Caucasus Investment Forum was the Vershina Investment award. As part of the award, winners were determined in 11 categories. The award is conferred to projects that are currently being implemented or implemented over the past three years and are distinguished by their innovation, advanced technology solutions, efficient use of resources and significant impact on the development of the social and economic spheres of the regions.

 

The Government of the Russian Federation and regional authorities in partnership with large Russian companies devote a great attention to improving the quality of life of the country's population. This activity includes accelerating the implementation of national projects, comprehensive improvement and development of regional infrastructure.
